The Chipi Chipi Box

$0.00

The Chipi Chipi Box:

This year I had the dream to provide comfort boxes to any family going through pregnancy loss in Lambton County. A little sunshine in a box, to shine through the rain. As a loss mama, I know how hard it is to find positivity in grief. You are grateful, of course, and do find the beauty in things while constantly comparing with those who have it worse, but this is your worst.

I think we need something to bring us out of the heart-wrenching pain. Glimmers of things that remind us of joy, or we would never continue. I like to imagine these little pockets of happiness or enjoyment come from our babies; it’s them reminding us what we are, what we gave to them, how we supported them, how they didn't suffer, and how they don't want us to either.

In this Chipi Chipi Box You Will Find Things To:

• Draw a bath to feel the healing, cleansing properties of water . . . it’s not your fault.

• Light a candle while you think of joy and your baby’s light. Celebrate their life and the brightness it brought and will continue to bring to yours.

• Breathe in lemongrass incense and it’s known properties of pain-relief and mindfulness.

• Journal to release your thoughts and beautiful memories. Write about how much your baby means to you.

• Say your worries to the “worry dolls” or even throwing them away to let the deep hurt and anger out.

• Wrap yourself with the rainbow scarf and feel the comfort that warmth brings to the soul.

• Apply lotion and a face mask to practice self-love and self-care . . . you are enough.

• Drink tea with a silent prayer to your baby.

• Plant bright flowers and seed paper to remember them as they continue to bloom in your heart.

• Read about and maybe connect with someone else’s loss story . . . you are not alone.

• Wear a bracelet and find peace where you can in knowing your baby’s love is always with you.

• Hold your “loss heart,” bring it to your own heart, know you are loved.

• Indulge in chocolates and remember there are still small joys and delights despite the feelings of devastation . . . you are deserving of pleasure.

• Drink some liquid NingXia to help rejuvenate when you can’t get out of bed . . . loss is exhausting.

• Blow up a balloon tagged with a letter and send it to your baby in the sky every year. Make your own traditions of honouring them.

• Hold your amethyst heart rock, a stone of deep love, peace, and hope, that you can keep in your pocket to hold onto. Let it soothe you anytime you need it.

• Remember that you are always a mother to your beautiful forever baby.

• Delight in the butterflies. Here for a moment, so briefly we see the beauty of the butterfly until it flies on again. We wish it could have stayed, but are grateful to have seen it at all.

All sales from Journals & Rainbows goes towards keeping the Chipi Chipi Box Project &  Sisterhood of the Travelling Journal Going.

Thank you for your endless support!
